Making the elf on the shelf work for you

Alfreda arrived this morning without prior warning. After I rescued her from the window where she'd got herself wedged in the security latch I gave her a stern lecture on it being polite to phone first, and suggested that if she could reach the window ledge she could also reach the doorbell. As with most guests, after three days you're probably getting anxious about how to entertain the little darling. My advice is to put Elf to work. S/he's got a lot to offer your social media followers in so many fields. Today's suggestion - use your elf in posts about home security. I'm sure a LOT of people would appreciate info on how to avoid uninvited visitors over the holiday season.
